Assay Scientist – Immunodiagnostics

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assay Scientist to join our client who is at the forefront of shaping the future of medicine.

You will work as part of the team responsible for the development and optimisation of In-vitro diagnostics and be responsible for verification and validation of final IVD test kits. Acting as a customer-facing technical lead, for external and internal projects, you will utilise your experience in methods including ELISA, flow cytometry, lateral flow, agglutination and turbidimetric techniques to develop IVD assays. You will also carry out experiments to develop, optimise and validate a range of assays to support their technology in industry-standard assays.

To succeed you will have a PhD and a minimum of 1 years’ biotechnology industry experience, or an MSc with 3 years or more experience.

You will have an demonstrable understanding of techniques including ELISA / CLIA / FIA / flow cytometry, lateral flow, agglutination, turbidimetry, molecular biology as well as developing target binding and phenotypic based assays (phosphorylation, cell proliferation etc.) using a range of techniques eg, Western blot, confocal microscopy and IHC.
