Your new company
Hays Education are working with a mainstream Primary school in Derby who are looking for a hardworking and passionate Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistant with a proven track record of working with children with challenging behaviour and ASD.

Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant within this school you will be working on a one to one basis with a child who needs support with their behaviour and ASD and be able to implement techniques that work for the child and identify techniques that don’t work to ensure optimum development.

What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will be able to deal with challenging behaviour in a calm and considered way. You will have an awareness of ASD, attachment profiles and what is and is not effective. You will ideally have emotional coaching capability and an awareness of sensory processing difficulties and the needs for a sensory diet. Alongside this you will have a therapeutic approach to behaviour management.
