Casual Catering Tutor

Core Assets Children’s Services are looking to recruit a Catering Tutor on a casual basis to deliver in the Halton area of the North West. This position would suit someone based in the Halton/Runcorn/Warrington/Manchester/Liverpool area, who is able to deliver 2 sessions per week of 2 hours per session, for 15 weeks with a possibility to extend.

This would suit someone who works in the catering or restaurant industry and is interested in helping to teach cooking skills to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Pupil Referral Unit environment. The course is a BTEC and Jamie Oliver developed level 2 Cooking Skills course and you will work with small groups, supporting them to achieve agreed educational outcomes. You will be required to work in partnership with schools, parents and other professionals.

We are looking for people who have:
• A catering qualification of at least level 2 including food hygiene certificate.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills, as there are elements of portfolio work.
• Experience of working with children in a teaching environment with behavioural issues is preferred but not essential.
• Experience of teaching/training within the catering sector is preferred but not essential.
• Are willing to undertake a full DBS check

Hourly rate up to £18per hour dependant on experience and qualifications.
