Health and Safety Advisor – Construction

Got the App My client a nationally recognised construction principal is looking to recruit a NEBOSH (or similar) qualified Health and Safety Advisor to manage Health & Safety and environmental compliance on 2 – 3 large multi million pound commercial / residential new build and refurb projects in central London.

You will manage health and safety for multiple sites ensuring the company and site comply with company and UK legislation, promoting a positive safety culture on site, monitoring EHS compliance on site producing weekly inspections and reports. You will become an active part of the site management team with hands on delivery of Health and safety on a daily basis.

The client is looking for candidates with principal contractor experience on concrete / RC frame multi story commercial or residential builds so previous experience managing health and safety on highly populated multi million pound high rise projects would be highly desirable. Previous experience managing health and safety across multiple, highly staffed (principal internal stakeholders and sub contractor organisations) construction projects with a number of tower cranes associated to it would also be looked upon favourably.

You will be predominantly site based in central London with daily visits to projects under your control and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders at all levels therefore excellent presentation and communication skills are essential. Just as important to the client as the technical capability and project experience is the personality and background of the successful candidate. The successful candidate should be confident enough to challenge the status quo and not just agree with all information put to them.

The client is ideally looking for a candidate with a NEBOSH construction or general certificate as a minimum with experience of multi story new build commercial or residential build. However, the client will consider applications from candidates that do not meet all the qualification criteria but do have previous experience on large multi million pound high rise construction projects with heavy lifting or tower crane aspects.
