Due to continuous growth, Barnsley College has a rare, yet exciting opportunity for a new Childcare Trainer within our Apprenticeship department. Our new Childcare Trainer will work in collaboration with fellow teaching staff and employers to maximise the development of knowledge, skills and behaviours for learners undertaking an apprenticeship.

Childcare Trainer
Apprenticeships
Permanent vacancy – 37 hours per week
£26,028 to £29,233 per annum
The Childcare and Health team is a well-established team of 9 with a large work-based learning (WBL) portfolio. Our new Childcare Trainer will hold responsibility for a caseload of 30-35 learners, providing high-quality training, mentoring and assessment methods to achieve their apprenticeship standard. You will develop individual training plans which provide support to learners to meet the content of, and effectively prepare them for the end point assessment.
This role is a mix of classroom delivery and work-based assessing, with around 2 days per week dedicated to in-person teaching. Motivating and inspiring new Childcare apprentices to work to the best of their ability is key. It is essential that our new Childcare Trainer has the occupational competency to deliver at Level 3, however it is advantageous to deliver at Level 4 / 5. Familiarity with the Apprenticeship standards in Childcare and Residential Sector is also beneficial, as this will be delivered to our new cohorts.
You will also receive significant investment to your own CPD in return, through support to achieve further qualifications such as PGCE and IQA whilst in post.
