SEN Teaching Assistant with Care / Support

Vision for Education are actively recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants who preferably come from a Support or Care Worker background to work at a specialist SEN (Special Education Needs) provision in Ashington. We consistently have short and long term positions available at this modern and thriving school. Successful applicants will be working with and supporting students in both Primary and Secondary PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) classes.

Required Attributes:

Have a patient, supportive, empathetic and understanding nature.
Preferable but not essential – Experienced support worker / care worker for students aged 2 – 19.
Happy to work with children of all ages and young adults (2-19).
Be vigilant and supportive when managing / de-escalating challenging behaviour.
Comfortable performing and supporting Personal Care if required.
Have a real desire to work with SEN students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Be confident working with both groups and 1:1.
Be confident when liaising with parents and colleagues.Essential Requirements:

Applicant must be available 5 days a week.
