Field Maintenance Officer – Colchester – Attractive Salary

The Role:Reporting to the Roving Works Supervisor, you will provide a planned building works service, targeting condition-based renewals generated from an annual plan. Works are generally surveyed, planned, targeted and coordinated for implementation via the multi-trade in-house team who are responsible for completing various works on time, to a high standard, and within budget.

Responsibilities:-

This building services role will require a methodical, flexible and dedicated approach. The person will have relevant experience and/or qualifications with a preferred technical knowledge gained from a building/construction trade background. Multi-trade experience would be an asset, and a person with exceptional skills or long term proven competency in various multi-trades without qualifications may be considered for these roles.

The role will involve working both as part of a team and independently at times. Candidates will be expected to be professional and use all of their skills to ensure the best economy, program and quality of finish. At times, when no specification or sketches are provided, the Works Team Operative will be expected to work from a short brief with remote support from the Manager.

The Person:-

Excellent experience in internal and external repairs and redecoration, carpentry and plumbing skills; and other multi-trade skills
Happy with extensive travel and stays away from home
Good understanding of varied building practices and materials is essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Good all round experience of risk and method statements and general health & safety processes is essential.
Well-organised self-starter, who can multi-task in a demanding environment
Understanding of architectural drawings and specifications would be advantageous
