Salary: £60,000 – £66,000 per year
Our client is one of the world leading manufacturers of automated machinery for use in the wood manufacturing sector and due to their continued expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning and repair of machinery throughout the UK.
The Role:
Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for planned and reactive machine maintenance, service, repair and some installation activities.
Duties will include but is not limited to the following;
- Installation, maintenance, service and repair of cutting machinery edgebanders, saws, feeders & stackers and conveyors
Attend machine breakdowns and providing effective fault diagnosis and repair services. - Mechanical and 3-phase electrical fault find and repair
- Electrical – 400v/230v/24v AC/DC controls
- & plc work ( Beckhoff)
- Providing operational training for customers
Candidate:
The successful candidate will have excellent electrical / mechanical engineering skills.
Ideally holding recognised electrical engineering qualification e.g. HNC, NVQ 3, 18th edition.
You must have previous experience in maintenance and repair of automated machinery applicants with previous experience in woodwork machine arena will be beneficial but not essential.
Preferbaly you will have good plc fault find and repair skills.
You will be happy to undertake frequent travel and stay away from home during the week.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 40 hours + OT
