Animal Technician

Salary: £26,000 – £35,100 per year

Here at S3 Science, we have seen a large influx of requirements for Animal Technicians. We are currently looking for Experienced Animal Technicians, to join our contract team, and ensuring their facilities are able to operate effectively, with Animal Welfare being the top priority.

As an Experienced Animal Technician, your main responsibilities will be:

* Providing exceptional care to the animals, carrying out animal husbandry including:

* Provision of adequate fresh food and water

* Provision of environmental enrichment

* Ensuring enclosures and cages are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness

* Carrying out daily tasks which include temperature monitoring, animal checks and general housekeeping within the department

* Ensuring that all animal husbandry and procedural records/data are up to date and accurate

* Performing tasks in accordance with client work instructions and procedures

* Providing weekend and bank holiday cover to ensure the animals are cared for 365 days per year

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

* Previous experience working within an Animal Research Facility is essential

* IAT Level 2 and above is desirable

* Being a Home Office License holder is desirable

* Natural empathy for animals

* IT skills of a good standard

* Strong attention to detail

If you do not have experience of working in a laboratory environment with animals you will not be considered for this post.
