PLC Design / Commissioning Engineer – Billingshurst – (West Sussex)

£30,000 to £32,000 with overtime available.

My Clients design, build, install and support control systems, robotics, safety systems and bespoke software solutions in a wide range of industrial sectors. They have gained ‘System Integrator’ status for a number of equipment manufacturers as well as developing close working relationships with complementary companies, yet have maintained their independence.

The main responsibilities for this role – PLC Design / Commissioning Engineer – (HNC / HND / BSC Engineering Discipline, PLC / Control Systems Design, HMI, Skada Systems).

Provide a high level of software design output through a thorough understanding of internal & external customer and regulatory requirements. Continuously apply innovative thought to ensure the company’s software design services offer maximum value to our customers. Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure software design solutions are delivered in the most cost effective manner and scope changes are managed in accordance with the company`s standard operating procedures. Ensure schedules are understood and workload and resources are managed so that deliveries are met. Ensure software design output is in line with the company`s standard operating procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. Effectively communicate project status to team members, management, customers and suppliers. Play a pro-active role in the department’s continuous improvement programme. Provide the Software Manager with the required information to establish a projects performance relative to its KPI`s.

Skills required for this role – PLC Design / Commissioning Engineer:-(HNC / HND / BSC Engineering Discipline, PLC / Control Systems Design, HMI, Skada Systems).
You must have experience in the PLC/Control systems design of industrial automation in a manufacturing environment, including the integration of robotics, vision systems and servo motion.
You must also have experience of working in an innovative environment, evaluating technical and customer requirements and providing viable innovative solutions as well as identifying long and short term project resource requirements.
You must be able to generate and verify design documents applying technical due diligence, being risk aware and taking measures to mitigate risk. You should have experience in conducting risk assessments as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously.
You need to be commercially aware of the effective use of resources, scope change and implications of choice and have experience in the validation procedures and application of GAMP. You will also have the ability to work as effectively as part of a team as you do on your own and be able to prioritise work within tight timescales.

You will have an HNC, HND, or BSC in a relevant engineering discipline and be proficient in the use Rockwell and Siemens programming platforms; the integration of robotics, vision systems and servo motion into industrial automation solutions and the Microsoft Office Suite.
