Industrial Cleaner / Handy Person

We have an opportunity for an Industrial Cleaner/handy Person to work for a large manufacturing company in the Southend area. Some general garden maintenance will also be required.

Duties will include:

• To ensure all internal and external waste bins are emptied daily.

• To empty CNC machine industrial trolleys into exterior swarf skips as required.

• To ensure the area around the external industrial skips is kept clean and tidy.

• To ensure the gangway floors are cleaned when required and the battery is charged and maintained on the floor washing machine.

• To regularly clean the factory internal windows and doors & floor standing machine screens.

• To empty the cardboard storage containers into the cardboard skip.

• To notify the facilities department when the stock levels of cleaning materials needs replenishing.

• To carry out basic factory maintenance as & when required.

• Be responsible for ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all areas.

• Be responsible for ensuring all Health & Safety policies are adhered to.

• Cover during the absence of other facilities team members & carry out duties to ensure cleanliness is maintained.

• To clean and maintain vending machines as and when necessary.

• Be responsible for the maintenance of external borders, paths & hedges.

• Be available to work out of normal hours and overtime when required.

The ideal candidates will have similar experience with basic knowledge of COSHH regulations with respect to chemicals used for cleaning

The hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm (half hour lunch) and Fridays 8am to 1pm (39 hours per week), Overtime after 39 hours is paid at time and a half and you will liaise between the Shoeburyness and Southend locations.
