Salary: £30,748.00 per year + Benefits

Giving people a voice – and making sure it’s heard – is something our client does every day. They’re all about promoting equality, challenging unfairness and giving disadvantaged and vulnerable people access to high quality information, advice and advocacy services.

They currently have an exciting opportunity in their East Midlands team for an IMCA Advocate working on their Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland IMCA service. The role will be home based although you will be expected to work across the respective service areas.

You will be supporting a wide range of vulnerable adults often with profound and multiple needs, so you will have experience of this type of work, along with a good working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.

Ideally, you will have an good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including the Deprivation of Liberty safeguards; strong experience working with vulnerable adults who are affected by significant health and social care issues and unable to speak up for themselves; and experience providing persuasive verbal and written representations.

You will be a confident positive team player, able to work professionally with clients and other professionals, gaining an understanding of issues by listening, exploring options and representing clients’ views, wishes and beliefs. The ideal candidate will either have worked in advocacy, information and advice or similar role before, or will otherwise have a background in health or social care and experience working with vulnerable adults.

You will be a confident positive team player whilst able to work well independently and confidently on behalf of others. Strong written and communication skills and time management skills will be required and you will need to be computer literate. As these will be busy roles, working across the service area, candidates must be within reasonable commutable distance to the contract area and have access to independent transport.

A DBS check will be required for this post.
