Systems Engineer MoD/Gov Redhill £32,000-42,000 + Benefits Permanent

Do you have Engineering experience within the Maritime sector? Do you have experience of Maritime Satcoms and/or networking? Have you been successful at carrying out field service installations, testing and commissioning, design work or project management?

Our client is a leading independent provider of communications services. The Systems Engineer will deliver high quality support to the Systems Engineering Manager for Key Customer System requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist the MOD/GOV Systems Engineering Manager who is the Technical Design Authority (TDA) for Key Customers system requirements
To assist Sales in determining Customer requirements
Interpret Sales requirements and provide or assist with the provision of design concept solutions and costs to form the basis of tendering and formulating timescales, preparing, co-ordinating and managing submission to Customer
Provide technical support in the design, costing and implementation of approved projects
To verify the technical accuracy of quotations and create parts lists and engineering orders from technical solutions
To determine and specify the PO requirements for technical solutions and to plan and implement such solutions ensuring that high quality standards are applied to all Customer submissions
To oversee the provision of appropriate engineering instructions and documentation to support engineering and Customer requirements working with Commercial and Product Managers as required to ensure that planning and implementation is in accordance with company guidelines and Customer requirementsEssential Experience:

Presentable and articulate
Either an engineering/IT background or degree/HND/HNC or equivalent (electronics or telecoms) CISCO and Microsoft qualifications (desirable, not essential).
Skills in VoIP, VSAT, TCP/IP and Linux
Military background is essential along with knowledge of military or government systems
Experience in translating technical material into language understood by non-technical personnel or clients
Ability to deliver efficient resolution of escalated customer issues
