Our client is recognised as an Ofsted Outstanding provider, following inspection in October 2013. Ofsted rated the Overall Effectiveness of their provision, along with Outcomes for learners, Quality of teaching, learning and assessment and Effectiveness of leadership and management as Outstanding. In addition, the Quality Assurance Agency, which independently reports on the quality and standards of degree provision, awarded the College more commendations than any other university or Higher Education establishment in the UK to date when it published its report in July 2013.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Resources Advisor to join their team, working on a full-time, fixed term basis (until end of July 2015) to assist students and staff in using the resources of the Learning Resource Centre – both electronic and print.

Working to develop a Digital and Academic Literacy programme to meet the needs of HE students, your responsibilities will include assessing the needs of learners, preparing support materials and devising learning workshops, making every effort to develop and improve the LRC’s services. Using your understanding of educational learning technologies, you should support academic staff in the development of digital resources and further assist them with the purchase of resources for the Resource Centre, closely monitoring the financial budget.

Educated to degree level or equivalent and ITQ2 qualified or similar, it is essential that the successful candidate has a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an academic library environment and is confident in developing and delivering training on e-learning packages. With excellent communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines, a working knowledge of LMS packages would be extremely desirable but it is not essential.
