Food Production Operators (Grade B)

You will be working in a fast paced short, shelf life food manufacturing facility. The focus on quality through all stages of the process is of the utmost importance owing primarily to the fact that anything related to food needs two basic things – Health & Safety and Food Safety.

Be able to communicate and write to a good standard of English.

The ability to follow instructions and procedures.

An understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules.

Be able to maintain concentration and focus for repetitive tasks.

Accuracy and attention to detail

Good team working skills and the ability to work alone with very little supervision.

A willingness to work flexibly

Clean as you go policy – work areas and machine are clean throughout the planned activity.

Follow set recipes/batching instructions in order to deliver the product and directions to prepare food properly.

Ensure that the segregation of all raw material to enable the elimination of cross contamination.

Check that the product received from your ‘internal customer’ is in specification, booked in and stored in the correct location.

Make sure that fresh and frozen material/products are rotated appropriately

Attending the daily taste panel.

Retrieve material from storage areas in order to prepare them for batching, marinating or cooking.

Ensure that there is minimal waste generated during food preparation, production or packing areas. Document control waste or scrap material, ensuring the correct level of sign off has been received.

Your job would take place on the production line of a factory. The temperature in a factory will vary depending on the department which you worked in (+5 – +12 degrees C)

You will work to high standards of hygiene, your daily PPE will consist of wellington boots, mob cap, ear protection and a smock.

Working weekends – either a Saturday or a Sunday.

Effectively communicate between internal departments.

Report any issues to the senior grade of the area or supervisor.
