Pre-Therapy Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pre-Therapy Support Worker to join a multi service charity based in Coventry. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £26,764.8 p.a. and a contributory pension scheme.

This position has been funded by Big Lottery and the European Social Fund and is part of the Accelerate Programme.

What We Do:

The charity has a fully trained staff team providing Supported Accommodation and Floating Support to victims of domestic violence and abuse and teenage parents. Children and young people’s services including a Nursery that provides full day care for pre-school children. Youth & Community services and a Counselling and Support service.

The Pre-Therapy Support Worker role will be responsible for:

Delivering and contributing to developing an innovative service of comprehensive emotional/psychological support (both on-site and in the community) to people (including those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged).

Duties will include:
Taking referrals of potential service users into the service.
Undertaking a comprehensive need and risk assessments with individuals referred to the service.
Developing a support plan in partnership and agreement with the service user to ensure identified needs are addressed, liaising with other relevant professionals as appropriate.

The successful Pre-Therapy Support Worker will have:
Certificate (and/or working towards a Foundation Degree) in Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent) preferred.
Sustained experience as a professional working with people with diverse needs in a supportive and empowering way preferably in a health and social care or equivalent organisational setting

The hours of work are 40 per week, including unsocial hours.
