Salary: £36,000 per year
Due to a new contract, our logistics client based in Daventry is looking for an Afternoon Warehouse Shift Manager experienced in warehouse management within a pallet network (and/or 3PL and be able to hit the ground running).
The successful candidate will be overseeing a 45,000 square foot warehouse operation.
Skills and Experience
* Experience managing a warehouse operation, pallet network or 3PL
* Experience working in a fast paced warehouse environment
* Excellent leadership and people-management skills
* Strong communication skills and be able to problem solves and make decisions
* Strong IT skills (MS Office and Transport Management Systems)
* Counterbalance Forklift and PPT licences essential
* Manual handling experience and ability to work in a physically demanding role
* Ability to keep calm under pressure
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will empower the team and ensure the effective running of the warehouse as well as the safe, efficient and cost-effective management of all tasks.
You will be responsible for (among other accountabilities):
* Supervising all operatives and a varies amount of temporary labour
* Ensuring machinery and equipment is properly maintained
* Hire, train and develop the associates to encourage professional growth
* Ensuring the floor is effectively prepared for the night shift
* Ensuring a high level of health, safety and welfare
* performing any request from the Operations Managers
* using all available evidence to make informed decisions to solve issues
Monday to Friday – 2pm – 10.30pm (some flexibility with working hours will be required as dependent upon business need)
