Troubled Families Team Manager

Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join the Family Support Team in the London Borough of Hounslow.

To work closely with the partners across Early Intervention and Children’s Specialist Services to improve the outcomes for children, young people and their families living and/or attending school in Hounslow and contribute to the safe reduction in the number of children in care.

Main Duties:
To develop, lead and manage the delivery of a range of interventions for children and young people aged 0 – 19 (up to 25 for those with a learning difficulty and / or disability), targeted at vulnerable groups
Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability
To ensure the effective allocation of work within the team, ensuring that high priority work is accorded the appropriate status as well as making certain that un-allocated work is safely managed
To ensure that services are provided in a manner that reflects departmental and corporate policies and that decisions about resource allocation are made with due regard to the department’s eligibility criteria
To establish and utilise effective management information and quality assurance systems to ensure that high standards of service delivery are achieved and performance targets are met, taking remedial action where necessary
To undertake recruitment of social work and ancillary staff within the agreed departmental recruitment procedures
To ensure rigorous, robust implementation and subsequent monitoring of the outcomes of care plans for all children
To chair statutory reviews, strategy meetings and children in need conferences as required
To be responsible for the development of effective working links between the team, service users, health, education, the voluntary sector and other sections within the council

Essential Skills & experience needed:
Ability to confidently manage and lead a team to ensure a high performance service
Specialist knowledge of Children’s and Families Services
Previous experience of operating within a framework set by corporate and management teams
Ability to build positive relationships with other staff members, additional external agencies and service users
Knowledge of recruitment processes

Job Requirements:
An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience working in Children and Families Services.
All applicants need to be social work qualified with current HCPC registration
