Apprentice Security Engineer

Salary: £26,000 per year

The Opportunity:

The apprentice will be joining a team of 35 current Security Engineers, and a major leader in the security technology industry. The apprentice will be working under the guidance and supervisory management of a more senior engineer to develop and improve competence in providing electronic security systems at client premises.

Objective of role

To assist with and learn the security service provider skills in the following:

* Install, programme, commission, test & hand over security systems including:

* CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Fire & Electrical systems

* To assist with project estimates/costings

* To always deliver a high level of customer service

* Cover wide geographic areas across NI & ROI (nights away)

* Conduct regular scheduled system maintenance visits

* On-site assessments with a more senior engineer &/or assessor

* College/further education attendance for key/functional skills (where applicable)

* Undertake continuous training to improve professional development (appropriate to the post)

* Provide Office Administrator with all dockets/PDA job call-out reports (minimum weekly basis)

The successful Apprentice Security Engineer will need the following:

* Experience within the electronic security systems industry

* Sound knowledge of current security standards and best practices

* Electrically Qualified is a benefit

* Good communications and interpersonal skills

* Possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

* Good attention to detail

* Full driving licence

* Safe Pass Certification

* Manual Handling Certification

NB: Successful applicants will be required to undergo a police criminal check, financial credit check, and be security screened to the BS7858 standard. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, it will lead to full employment.
