Senior Operations Manager

A leading 3pl is looking for a Senior Operations Manager to join their business based in Leeds. The candidate will be will be responsible for the complete day to day running in a fast paced distribution operation.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Operations Manager:

Monitor, plan and organise resources within the team to ensure daily targets are met within budgetary constraints
Lead and manage all associates within your team including probationary reviews and monthly/annual appraises to develop a high performing team
Nurture, develop and coach talented individuals to ensure future succession
To attend the health and safety committee on a regular basis
Ensuring site compliance with all relevant legislation/regulations
Co-ordinate the promotion of safe working behaviours in the workplace by ensuring clear communication and consistent messages across the site
Promote and encourage continuous improvement
Manage all disciplinary and grievance issues in line with HR policy and procedures
Encourage effective communication, leadership, motivation, training and developmentCandidate Requirements:

Proven background of 4+ years within large distribution operations
Must be managing at least 100 FTE’s currently
Ability to engage, motivate and influence and hands on to deliver results through your team
Communication skills are crucial at all levels verbally and written
Managing unionised teams
Must have a methodical yet flexible approach to warehouse management
Proven background in prioritising work efficiently, setting and achieving measurable daily targets and working within set budgets.
