HGV / LGV / Class 1 Driver, Dagenham

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV / LGV / Class 1 Driver to work in Dagenham for the UK’s number one dairy business and a company who believe in encouraging success – both business and personal.

Hours & Remuneration
For the role of HGV / LGV / Class 1 Driver you will be working shifts covering Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday and you will have every 4th weekend off. Please only apply if you are happy to work these hours. Please only apply if you are happy to work these hours.

Nature and Scope of the Job
As HGV / LGV / Class 1 Driver you will deliver products on articulated vehicles to our clients’ customers from Dagenham. Duties include:

* Effective service to customer service level agreements and company stated KPI targets
* To deliver goods in a safe, efficient and timely manner
* Directly liaise with customer delivery points
* Portray a professional branded image to all of our customers
* To liaise and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers

Principal Accountabilities
In the role of HGV / LGV 1 / Class 1 Driver you will:

* Drive in a fuel efficient and safe manner in line with Merlin principles
* Full compliance with all EU Driver Hours and RTD regulations
* Ensure goods are transport within correct temperature specifications
* Ensure all equipment is used in line with company safe systems of work
* Pre and post vehicle checks are completed and any defects reported in the correct manner
* All site rules and speed limits to be obeyed at all times

Knowledge & Experience Required
The HGV / LGV / Class 1 Driver must:

* Hold a full current LGV 1 (Cat C+E) driving licence, and have been employed as a professional HGV / LGV driver.
* Have no unspent endorsements other than endorsements for speeding and or parking offences to a maximum of 6 points.
* Have no convictions (spent or otherwise) for Careless/Dangerous Driving or Driving under the influence of Drink or Drugs – convictions for CD/DD – DR/DD within the last 5 years.
* Be fully conversant with the requirements of EC Directive 561/2006 and 3821/85 and strictly obey the requirements of the law related to Drivers Hours and Tachograph Regulations. The same should apply to working time regulations.
* Be fully conversant with and competent in the operation of Digital and Analogue Tachograph systems
* Have a reasonable knowledge of the UK Highway Code and be able to read and understand written instructions displayed on road signs.
* Display a reasonable understanding of the legal restrictions applied to Large Goods Vehicles particularly, Bridge Height Warning Signs, Yellow Box Junctions and Restricted zones – London Congestion Charging/London Lorry Ban.
* The Candidate should have full Driver CPC mandate.

The salary on offer is £37,086per annum.
