Would you like to work for a leading international FMCG company, focused on its desire to surpass its customers’ expectations?

We are looking for a driven, hands on Category Manager to join this leading Category team as a key member working on one of their largest categories.

About The Role

As a Category Manager you will report into the Head of Marketing and work closely with the internal Commercial team to maintain the day to day category partner relationship with the retailer trading teams.

Within a company heavily focused on understanding their customers’ requirements, you will ensure the translation of customer & consumer needs into NPD, longer term strategic category reviews, range recommendations, promotional strategy and retail implementation. You will also provide actionable insight from Kantar and EPOS data sources.

As a leading food supplier within the industry, focused on developing new products and venturing into new categories, you will be responsible for knowing and understanding your market dynamics in order to better analyse market information and foster new opportunities for future profitable growth.

As well as specific responsibility for specific customers there will be requirements to assist or lead in the Category Management support for other customers.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a background of FMCG, Food or Drink and demonstrate a progressive and successful Brand, Category or Product Manager career to date ideally within a predominantly own label environment, ideally dealing with Grocery Multiple accounts.

With previous Category, Product or Customer Marketing experience, you will be competent in creating actionable insight from Insight Data sources such as Kantar, Neilsen, Retail Link and EPOS.

Strong leadership skills, passion, energy and the hunger to drive growth are essential attributes for this role. This combined with a focused and logical approach to problem solving will mean you will be driven to achieve even when faced with obstacles.

A competent user of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint, you will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. With excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills you will have a proactive attitude and the ability to think creatively and out of the box.

If you match the above skillset and attributes and are ready for a new and exciting challenge in 2014 or contact with Tammy Cowley at The Advocate Group quoting reference VAC-13235 for more information.

The Advocate Group is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this position.

Due to a high number of applicants, we are unable to respond to everyone, if you are not contacted within 3 working days, you have unfortunately not been shortlisted for this role but we will bear you in mind for other opportunities
