Integration Design Engineer

If you’re an experienced Integration Engineer with experience in the automotive industry, this is the role for you!

will join an experienced and forward thinking package design team, delivering designs for the integration of the hybrid powertrain into multiple vehicle models and types. It is essential that you will have a track record of delivering integrated automotive engine and powertrain components and be comfortable the process and practices for design-for-manufacture. You will be at the forefront of designing new parts from scratch, using appropriate analysis tools validating designs, creating the designs for manufacturing and finally the manufacturing of your parts.

Your roles and responsibilities:

– The designs for the manufacturing of mountings used for engine bay components.
– The FEA of designed components.
– Producing assembly drawings and instructions for the production teams.
– Designing integration of critical powertrain components.

Your skills and expertise:

Required

– Mechanical Engineer Honours Degree of similar.
– Strong experience of 3D CAD modelling software – ideally Autodesk Inventor however any will be considered.
– Strong grasp of drawing for manufacturing and using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerencing).
– Experience of build programs within the heavy-duty sectors.
– Experience in FEA.
– A sound knowledge of the manufacturing techniques for sheet metal.

Desirable

– Experience of hybrid and/or electric powertrains within an automotive setting.
