System Integration Manager (Home Based)

I have an exciting opportunity to join an established international automation handling organisation based in the UK. They are demonstrated significant growth over the last few years and are continuing this in line with their group strategy.

This is either an office or home based position which will be focused towards automation and software solutions for engineering projects from pre-sales design through to delivery to the client. This is ensuring all of the respective systems of project are correctly integrated in conjunction with requirements specification from project scope, interface, and acceptance testing. Being a unique role within the business, you will have come from a Commissioning Management/Technical Project Management/System Integration Management or Installations Management background with a desire to progress your career in developing automated solutions for large scale projects.

This is a pivotal role within the business and is a standalone role which will largely require you to visit customers and site in ensuring the systems are effectively integrated and tested appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

* Implement the Functional plan for the Systems Integration role within a project
* Lead production of Pre-Sales Scope of Supply / FDS document
* Pre-sales consultant to the solution design team
* Production of the contract Test Specification
* Production (or audit if pre-sales create the model) of the Availability Model
* Attend stage gate review
* Define the tests/scenarios
* Lead production of Functional Design Specification
* Audit of Functional Specifications (AT, IT, SCADA, Operating Dashboard) to ensure minimum standard of detail included
* Consultant during the production of the emulation specification
* Define the site Standard Operating Procedures
* Audit the design of the solution to ensure that the electromechanical aspects and its controls will deliver the system performance and functionality required by the contract
* Manage the conference room end-to- end pilots
* Define flow control philosophy for key areas of the system
* Produce the test load specification
* Contractual Testing
* Define minimum FAT to ensure all systems achieve requirements
* Manage client FAT testing
* Managing client SAT including Functionality, Soak and Throughput tests

Key Requirements:

* Broad knowledge and experience of Engineering and within an automated materials handling environment
* Track record of technical project delivery from pre sales to delivery
* Strong leadership qualities
* Excellent client management skills
* Good IT skills, Word, Excel etc.
* Ideally qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a Mechatronic discipline

You will be a self-starter who has previous experience of designing controls or software solutions for automated handling environments. Proven project management experience is key for the role and the ability to communicate with a number of internal/external stakeholders is key.
