Development Manager/Technical Director/Chief Technical Officer, Birmingham City Centre, £45k-55k

Development Manager is required to work for a intimate Award Winning Digital Media Agency f about 20 staff in their office within Birmingham City Centre.

Working closely with the Creative Director the Development Manager will be leading a team of developers to create websites and applications. The Development Manager’s duties will include planning software architectures, analysing client requirements, producing written and visual specifications, specifying development, deployment and methodologies, and assisting with presentations and pitches. The Chief Development Manager will also be responsible with database design, and programming to set up initial architectures, along with maintaining security and privacy procedures.

The ideal Development Manager will have strong communication skills, and be from a web development background with an ability to design simple architectures and sell the benefits to both colleagues and clients.

Key Skills
• 5 years Web Development Experience
• Knowledge of the following
o LAMP
o Drupal, Symfony or Rails
o Cloud Hosting Environments & Deployment Methodologies
o Continuous Integration, Test Driven Design etc.
• Understanding of Current Legislation and standards, security best practice and methodologies used to working with wireframes and developing technical specification documents.
• Ability to present to clients
• Skill to design architectures.

Desirable Skills
• Accreditation in some of the following:
o PHP
o MySQL
o Drupal
o ITIL
o Scrum
o Prince II
o AWS
• Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Company within a central location walking distance of public transport routes. Salary between £54,000 – £66,000per annum.
