Salary: £78,000 – £102,000 per year

Senior / Lead Frontend Developer, Fully Remote, £65k to £85k

Avanti Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a successful and growing e-commerce company who build easy to use technology. They have offices in London, Sheffield and Sunderland where you are welcome to work, but you are also welcome to work 100% from home.

They are looking for a Senior or Lead Front End Developer who will enjoy leading a squad of 3 bright Web Developers, taking their e-commerce platform to the next growth phase. It is an exciting time to join with some awesome projects to lead and manage. You don’t need official management experience, just the desire to be a Dev Lead with some experience of mentoring other Devs.

You will lead a team of 3 Web Developers using modern technologies on the front end like React / Redux / TypeScript. It is a Serverless environment so an interest in event driven Microservices, AWS, Kafka and Kubernetes would be great. Experience with PHP would be an advantage.

The role:

* Lead a team of developers focused on delivering requirements on time and to high standards

* Manage team following Agile and Scrum methodologies

* Responsible for managing the teams’ workload and sprint performance

* Ensure that the e-commerce applications deliver best in class end user experience, are fully indexable by search engines and compliant to SEO performance requirements.

Technical Leadership

* Lead the software development of the e-commerce product suite ensuring business goals are met whilst providing customer value

* Provide technical advice in defining the front-end software solutions for e-commerce products

* Collaborate with stakeholders consuming e-commerce technology products and services

Technology Delivery

* Provide advice and suggestions to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and build those in the most efficient way

* Write detailed technical specifications for product backlog following Agile processes, meeting stakeholders’ requirements and acceptance criteria

* Ensure all technical solutions delivered follow defined group architecture standards and processes

R&D and Tooling

* Carry out research and development ahead of future projects and make necessary recommendations ahead of any planning stages

* Ensure tooling and software systems are always current and relevant in aiding the engineering team with the development process

Required experience

* Detailed knowledge of JavaScript

* Excellent HTML/CSS (LESS, SASS, SCSS)

* Experience building applications using React JS

Nice to haves

* Ability to consume GraphQL APIs to power user interfaces

* Ability to set development standards and performing Code Reviews

* Using Styled Components or a similar CSS-in-JS library to design user interfaces

* Experience of working with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

* Understand the process of a CI/ CD pipeline
