Real pride. Real advantage The Simulation department is an operational area within Engineering Integrated Solutions (EIS) based at Warton. The department is responsible for a range of highly capable facilities that are utilised in the support of Air Vehicle, Flight Systems and Mission Systems development. The primary activities performed within the department are Flight Control System development, operational effectiveness studies, rapid engineering of cockpit displays & systems, lighting assessments, development of Synthetic Environments, support to Sales & Marketing campaigns and the design, build and manufacture of cockpit demonstrators and training systems. Simulation wish to recruit an experienced, flexible, highly motivated Modelling and Simulation Engineer to support all current and future programmes. The nature of the work performed within the department is extremely varied but tasks generally support the key departmental functions outlined above and are usually of short duration. Daily activities will involve working closely with other members of the Simulation Airframe Group and various Customers to ensure any developed software meets requirements in terms of both operational functionality, quality and maintainability. This will frequently necessitate dealing with challenging timescales, evolving requirements and working with emerging technologies and novel concepts. Short-term deployments to other EIS departments may be necessary to provide on-demand software development support as dictated by Business needs. Some limited off-site deployment and support work may also be required but this can be adapted to accommodate personal circumstances. As Modelling – Software Engineer your skills, qualifications and experience will ideally include: Good C/C++ programming abilities (plus other languages)Working knowledge and use of the Mathworks Model Development Toolset (Matlab, Simulink) Experience of technical report writing and a good working knowledge of modelling and simulation concepts are essential.Strong team-working, problem solving, personal time management and general communication abilities.Background knowledge of Object Oriented Design techniques, UML, avionic architectures, hardware/software integration and both Windows and Linux operating systems would also be beneficialPrior experience of tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio and the Microsoft Office suite.
