Android Developer (Kotlin)

Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year

Android Developer (Kotlin), £40k to £45k, Oxford (Harwell)

Avanti are currently working with an exciting healthcare technology company that are doing incredible things for people with certain illnesses, making it easier to treat them.

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to take on an exciting role within their Front-End IT team.

The Android apps are native and you will be developing first class mobile apps using Kotlin.

Ideally you will spend 2 days per week working from the Harwell office.

Responsibilities:

* Develop high-quality native Android mobile apps

* Gather and proactively address technical and design requirements

* Follow emerging technologies worldwide, actively supporting the innovation of our apps

* Write and review complete documentation during all software development life-cycle phases

Ideal skills required:

* Prior working experience developing native Android apps

* Good experience of native development in Java/Kotlin (Android)

* Web service integration (REST, JSON, etc.)

* Knowledge as well as use of third-party libraries

* Management of listings and releases using Google Play

* Working knowledge of version control in Bitbucket and/or Git

* Experience of Architecture/Design patterns and their application to Android development

* Experience of a development process such as Test-Driven Development

* Knowledge and experience of app security and data protection and their implementation

Bonus points for:

* Experience using recent Android framework versions

* Experience with CI and CD practices

* Experience of working in an Agile environment

* Experience of writing Unit and UI Tests

* Experience with the Jetpack framework

* Experience of task/ticket management tools such as Jira
