Motorsport / Race Car Technician

Motorsport Technician required in Wakefield/ Normanton West Yorkshire

Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm
£18,000-25,000 depending on experience/ qualifications

We have an immediate vacancy for an experienced Car Technician to join our Client’s Motorsport Workshop in the Wakefield area of West Yorkshire.

Our Client has worked in Motorsport for over 40 years from Club-level to Formula 1, and is looking for an additional Technician to join their team. The company have recently specialised in the Ford Performance scene, so experience working in a Ford workshop would be advantageous.

The role will involve:

General road and race car preparation and maintenance;
General servicing;
Turbo removal and refitting;
Fitting and testing of aftermarket performance parts;
Diagnose, repair and replace engine management/ fuel injection components;
Advance wiring diagnostics and repair;
Maintain the Dyno and Workshop to high standards;
Attending trade shows with the salesteam to strengthen customer rapport.

Requirements:

Full UK driving licence;
Qualification in Light Motor Vehicle Repair or Motorsport Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3);
Positive attitude & strong work ethic;
Ability to work well in a high pressure environment;
Ability to work in a customer-facing environment

Desirable skills/ experience:

Motorsport experience;
Fabrication / welding skills;
Electrical skills;
Ford experience;
B+E trailer or HGV licence
