I am working with a leading Environmental Consultancy who have an exciting and new role for a high-calibre consultant or senior consultant to join their Advisory Services team with a focus on Water Policy.
My client has a long established and evolving business delivering environmental consultancy and advice to clients within the UK and worldwide. This role will sit within their Environmental Policy and Economics team, a part of their Advisory Services team, which focuses on delivering sustainability advisory services, working in partnership with their clients to deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Their Advisory work covers a broad range of services incorporating environmental policy, climate action, circular economy, waste management and decarbonisation, supporting the businesses purpose to unlock solutions to deliver a net-zero future and enable a more sustainable, resilient and liveable world.
The successful candidate would both support and lead the delivery of projects, and in winning new work and are particularly interested in candidates who have some water science background – either academic or through work experience – which would help inform the implementation of some of the technical aspects of these projects. If you have: a keen interest and proven experience in public policy on water; are able to analyse and interrogate data; and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing then this could be the role for you.

In order to be considered for this role you will have; Knowledge and proven experience working in development and/or implementation of water policy and legislation (such as the Water Framework Directive, Drinking Water Directive, Floods Directive); A keen interest in furthering your career in environmental policy; Excellent communication skills and ability to write concise reports in English; Demonstrable experience in some of the following: policy development and implementation; evaluation of technical / policy measures; cost-benefit analysis; data collection, validation and analysis; and stakeholder consultation (with a focus on water policy); Analytical economic techniques such as: survey design and execution; market analysis; socio-economic analysis; regulatory impact assessment; Some knowledge/experience of the practise of water science; Understanding of the development of public policy and the methods for assessing the economic and environmental impacts of government action. You must be/have; Postgraduate qualification in environmental science / technology, economics, engineering, law or policy OR relevant undergraduate degree and relevant experience.
