Primary School Counsellor

Counsellor with experience and relevant qualifications are required for part-time long term positions available in a mainstream primary school based in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Barking and Dagenham is a great location, conveniently located in North East London 30 minutes from Central London.

The post will require you to support children, aged 4-11 years, predominately on a one to one basis. You will need to be flexible, understanding, motivated, strong communicator and the ability to work with small groups on specific programmes if required. The role is at a two-form entry school that are looking for someone who is willing to dedicate themselves to providing support for a long-term position. The school are a very supportive primary school that will look to work closely along side you to find the best way to ensuring pupils well-being.

A minimum of 6 months counselling experience working is required. Previous experience working with children would advantageous, particularly in a school setting.
