Overview
You’ll be working as a Senior Manager in our award-winning company secretarial business, Company Matters, one of the largest company secretarial providers in the UK and well-known for its expertise in corporate governance advisory services and company secretarial administration.
You will be expected to make a strategic and commercial contribution to our business by utilising your company secretarial and managerial skills within the team
. You will support the Associate Directors, working collectively and collaboratively with other Managers to enable us to meet our business plan and develop the capabilities of our highly skilled team.
You’ll be based either full-time or on a hybrid basis from either our office in Exeter city centre, or our Gresham Street office in London, but you must be within a commutable distance.
What you could be doing:
• Providing leadership on high profile clients, bringing gravitas and experience to the Boardroom when required
• Contributing to the direction of the business in terms of the development and retention of our client base, shaping the evolution of our services and our profile in the external market and within the business
• Line managing members of the team, providing guidance on oversight of workflows, performance management and professional development processes
• Overseeing the overall profitability and quality of workflows undertaken by the teams, working closely with the Managers to resolve delivery issues, fee negotiations and work allocation across sites
• Raising the profile of our team and our service offering through internal and external events and initiatives, including panel participation, delivering presentations and networking
• Build strong relationships across the Exeter and London teams, in addition to with the rest of the wider business
• Supporting the execution of our strategic vision by deploying resources and ensuring delivery against key objectives and wider change initiatives
What we’re looking for:
• The drive and desire to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead, develop and motivate both the management team and wider team
• A self-starter with excellent motivation and a willingness to take a hands-on role when required
• Senior Corporate Governance, Advisory and Company Secretarial experience demonstrated at Board level with experience of advising listed companies or through IPO
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the professional services model
• Strong business development and professional services experience or appropriate transferable skills
• An ACG / FCG or equivalent qualified as a Lawyer and / or Accountant
