CNC Programmer Setter Operator

Salary: £36,000 per year

CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator – Gloucester

The successful candidate must be able

* To produce programme files from supplied 3D Data using an offline package for use on 5-axis machinery

* To read 2D control drawings and apply the information to CAM package programmes

* To competently set a CNC machine for use by others.

* To load material and run a CNC machine in a one off or low batch machining environment

* To handle, load and set fixture plates and support jigs to 3 and 5 axis machine beds

* To measure machined components accurately using standard manual measurement techniques

* To confidently select and use CNC machine tooling, change cutters / tips etc.

The CNC Programmer must be familiar with:

* The use of manual machines, lathes/mills for billet preparation and finishing preparations and be able to set the machine for use by others

* The correct procedures for the day to day maintenance protocols associated with a CNC machining department and ensuring these procedures are followed

Essential experience

* Must have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship

Desirable experience / qualities

* Experienced in the use of PowerMill (or willing to be trained)

* Experienced in the use of Heidenhain controls

* Excellent communication skills, good team worker

* Flexible and able to work under pressure

* Excellent timekeeping

This is a full time permanent role working 7.00am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday

Salary £36,000 per annum, 25 days + statutory, pension
