We are looking for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to work within our Helicopter Division, based in Yeovil.
As Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will support the strategic aims of Leonardo Helicopters using a suitably accredited, approved and monitored supply chain.
Supplier Quality Assurance is a Global function that has developed and implemented supplier initial approval and surveillance processes based on Industry best practice.

Key Responsibility Areas
- Surveillance audits, new supplier approval, vendor database management
- Definition of the supply quality assurance policies and manual
- Plan, control and execute a central worldwide suppliers audit plan and provide relevant reporting
- Verify the degree of conformity of the Suppliers operating system to Leonardo Helicopters certification systems and manage the supplier approval list in collaboration with Procurement
- Collaborate with Certifications and Quality Managers to plan audit requirements
- Support airworthiness authorities in execution of their audit plans of the Leonardo Helicopters supply chain
- Assist in providing a new supplier approval service which supports the delivery of quality product from suppliers to acceptable timescales
- Assist in the management of Corrective Action Requests
- Provide guidance to other business areas and external suppliers regarding Supplier Quality matters
- Review and approve supplier Quality Plans against LH requirements.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
You really must have:
- Education to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject and have significant relevant experience in either Aeronautical,
- Avionics, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Special Process or Manufacturing disciplines
- Sound knowledge of Regulatory standards such as EASA Part 21G and FAA FAR21
- Knowledge of Quality fundamentals, tools and techniques
- Computer literate
- Sound interpersonal skills at all levels
- Strong ability for interpretation of information against a requirement
- Able to communicate both verbally and in the writing of reports within all levels of an organisation
- Available to travel for short periods within and outside UK
- Able to display diplomacy and tenacity in the face of resistance
It would be nice if you had:
- Lead Assessor potential with practical experience of ISO 9001 and EN/AS9100
- A good knowledge of EASA PART21J and EASA/FAA Part 145
