Salary: £43,200 – £50,400 per year

Purpose of the Role:

With responsibility for ensuring you develop your skills so you can take responsibility for designing and providing effective IT solutions within a high performing IT function, no day will ever be the same. With a primary focus on Cloud solutions, your aim will be to design systems that are secure, fit for purpose and add real value, ensuring our systems are available whenever the business needs them

Requirement:

• Establish and maintain IT and digital communication infrastructure, including wireless or LAN networks
• Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
• Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
• Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
• Create and review architecture and solution design artifacts
• Evangelize re-use through implementation of shared assets
• Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
• Proactively provide guidance on secure networking methodologies, standards, and leading practices
• Guidance of operations staff and reviews of as-built configurations during construction phase
• Provide insight and direction on roles and responsibilities required for solution operations
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout full life cycle
• Occasional travel to other locations within the business to perform relevant analysis

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role ideally within FMCG and be qualified in Aruba certified switching or Cisco CCNA. You will have knowledge of networking within hosted solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms and best practice in relation to design & security. You will be experienced in building and supporting mission critical technology components with DR capabilities and with multi-tier system and service design and development for medium enterprises. Extensive, real-world experience designing technology components for enterprise solutions and defining solution architectures and reference architectures with a focus on cloud technologies.
