Our client, a pioneering housing, regeneration and social investment housing provider, currently has new and exciting positions available for Support Workers to join their Housing Support Team. These roles are permanent (job share considered) and the salary is £26,000.
The Support Worker will provide housing-related support to a range of vulnerable client groups in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and the Forest of Dean.
Delivering a client-led service you will enable people to live independently and improve their quality of life. You will also increase their confidence and skills to enable them to lead more fulfilling lives and contribute to the community. With your high quality customer care skills you will provide an efficient and effective responsive support service, assessing and meeting the support needs of clients.
Other duties will include acting as the first point of contact for clients to achieve a secure housing environment, reduce social isolation and promote integration into the community. Support Workers will also co-ordinate the activities of Support Assistants and will act as a resource for the team in respect of specialist areas.
The successful candidates will have a good standard of general education and possess a relevant professional qualification in housing or social work to NVQ Level 3/4 or have an equivalent level of skills and experience. Other requirements will include experience of working with vulnerable people and a flexible, responsive and solutions-focused approach to service provision, including working hours and duties. A working knowledge of welfare benefits and relevant legislation is also required along with excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. A working knowledge of a community language would be an advantage, but is not essential.
An Enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.
Based in Gloucester, this role is commutable from areas such as Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Stroud and Cirencester.
