My Client Primary school in the Lambeth area of London will be looking for an extra teaching assistant for November 17th. The Head is ideally looking for strong graduates who are looking to become teachers of the future, via PGCE/School Direct Programme for September 2015.

The school is large and complex that serves a diverse multicultural community in an urban area. The new Head was appointed in 2012. An outstanding individual who has made a big difference to the school. The Senior Leadership is now very strong.

Over the next few years he is looking to improve the influence that Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants have on the learning of the children. He will be looking to utilise them in a General TA capacity. However, more importantly, he will ask the new Teaching Assistants to work with groups of children out of class. Basically for part of the day the Teaching Assistants will be more like Mentors/Teachers, working mainly on Literacy and Numeracy. Therefore he is looking for bright, enthusiastic, empathetic graduates to fill these roles.

Are you looking to be a teacher or Ed Psychologist in future years?

The Head is looking for either of the above. He will be especially interested in those who have some experience in schools, taught overseas, worked with youths………….. He also will want each Teaching Assistant to help out with either Sports, Arts/Drama or Music clubs.

School based interviews will take place on Nov 13th. I will be looking to have registration interviews at the Academics office ASAP
