Salary: £240 – £330 per day
The Role
You will be involved in delivering the continual improvement roadmap of a leading ecommerce web site. Working in a close team of web developers, your time will be split between developing coding and providing solutions with a 3rd party technical partner.
Reporting to the Head of Ecommerce, you will work alongside other web developers and take direction from the Senior Web Developer when required. You will also work with Creative, Marketing, Merchandising, Business Intelligence and IT teams to ensure common goals are achieved and a successful cohesive brand identity is portrayed.
We Are Looking For
Great web development skills and a sound technical understanding of all things web related. Experience using JavaScript, HTML and CSS are essential and a good knowledge of the JQuery library will be highly regarded. In particular we want a strong technical ability, great attention to detail and a positive approach to problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Web Development
• Code improvements to the ecommerce web site using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML and CSS. Adapt to use other appropriate web technologies as needed.
• Improve UX, ecommerce functionality and customer journey.
• Build and run MVT tests.
• Code seasonal promotional content onto the site.
• Triage web site issues and work with 3rd parties to deliver high quality resolutions.
• Take ownership of ecommerce change requests and ensure efficient and high quality solutions are delivered either internally or by 3rd parties.
Relationship Management
• Work closely with other internal web developers, 3rd party technical partners, as well as other related teams to deliver a high quality online customer experience and to portray a successful cohesive brand identity.
Education/Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
• Educated to Degree level in an IT or online related discipline.
• Proficient hardcoding HTML, CSS, jQuery and JavaScript.
• Excellent problem solving and technical skills.
• Detail and quality focussed.
• Confident managing a varied workload.
• Capable of building productive and positive relationships both internally and externally
• Highly IT literate and confident using technology to provide solutions.
Desirable
• Experience in an ecommerce or other commercial environment.
• Experience of MVT testing, UX and UI design.
• Development skills and principles in multiple programming languages.
• Knowledge of Photoshop.
• Experience using tag management.
• Experience with product data feeds.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce or any other ecommerce platforms.
• HTTP or networking knowledge (for caching and page performance optimisation).
• Experience building marketing emails.
