You’ll be working for Saint-Gobain Formula in Newark. Formula is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and a Leading supplier of high performance industrial plasters, supplying 80 countries across 5 continents.

For this role in particular we are looking for someone with the skills and experience;
- Significant experience leading a multi-disciplined team within a manufacturing environment, ideally as a Plant Manager, or similar
- Degree educated, ideally a technical or engineering qualification, given the nature of what we do
- Experience of working using WCM or similar CI methodology
- Experience in both Project and Change Management
- Health & Safety knowledge, ideally backed up by an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
- A good understanding of HR protocol and employment law
- Resilience, and the ability to dig deep and not accept the first answer given
- Fantastic communication, influencing and people skills, able to bring teams together as one unit
Requirements
What will I be doing in the role?
You will lead and manage the operations on site, ensuring zero harm to all, and minimal environmental impact, whilst maximising customer service levels, product quality, operational efficiencies and cost savings through a continuous improvement culture, with the aim of achieving a sustainable positive operating result.
Some of the duties you will have, include;
- Ensure Health and Safety of all people on site by adhering to legal and Saint Gobain requirements (to include both processes and behaviours)
- In charge of the sustainability roadmap of the plant for scope 1 and scope 2, water and support the scope 3 CO2 emission reduction
- Overall responsibility for the quarrying operation and restoration at Bantycock including sourcing and selecting the 3rd party quarry contractor and managing the on-going relationship.
- Consult with and negotiate with the Local Union Representative in line with the NJC agreement
- Lead the UK Management Team, and determine the strategic direction for the Newark Site in line with the Formula Purpose (Formulate Together Brighter Futures) bringing other site based functions together in a common approach
- Pro-actively challenge the organisation to drive agreed changes through the business using the WCM toolset
- Define and implement appropriate management and workforce structure for the Operations team, along with the skills and competencies to meet current and future demands
- In conjunction with HR, ensure that effective succession plans are in place for the Operations team
- Lead, motivate and develop the Operations team following the Saint Gobain Principles of Conduct & Action and HR policies and procedures thereby developing a culture of continuous improvement and trusting co-operation.
- Establish systems to record, collect and regularly analyse and act upon relevant plant performance data.
- Implement new technology and processes as appropriate to ensure Newark achieves operational excellence
