Accounts Assistant / Purchase Legder Assistant

Our client, an artistic design business based in Central London, is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The role will be heavily purchase ledger focused so you must have thorough purchase ledger experience.
They are looking for someone who has an interest in art and design and who has purchase ledger experience. You will need to have 3 years experience in an accounts role and will hardworking. They are looking for someone who can organise their work load.
They would consider supporting study in the future however they would consider candidates who are qualified by experience. The role will not initially include management accounts but I the successful candidate shows promise then the client will get them involved with some management account duties.
Previous experience of using SAP would be extremely beneficial.
They need someone to start in the next 2 weeks so you must be immediately available or on short term notice.
Key duties:
• Match, batch and code high volumes of purchase invoices – received via post, email and fax
• Sending invoices and credit notes to the correct departments for approval
• Process staff expenses and petty cash
• Maintain the invoice register
• Making UK and International payments to suppliers (BACS, cash, credit card and cheque
• payments)
• Monthly Payroll
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Checking suppliers statements and chasing a missing invoices if needed
