Our client is a world-leading media management company that connects and promotes their customers’ digital content to targeted audiences. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Webmaster to join their team.

This is the ideal role for a high calibre operational, support or customer-facing IT professional with solid JavaScript, CSS, XML and HTML skills looking to join an exciting, forward-thinking company. As a Webmaster, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the play-out, publication and support of our client’s innovative online content management services.

Liaising with customers, you will provide continuous hotline and on-call support for our client’s services on a rota basis. Responding to reported incidents in a timely and effective manner, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve faults and oversee all issues through to resolution.

Additionally, you’ll provide key technical advice to customers, administer accounts and ensure that all output is of the highest possible quality.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

– Proven experience in an operational, support or customer-facing role supporting business-critical services in a live environment
– Experience of working with issue tracking software, such as Jira
– Practical experience of using JavaScript, CSS, XML and HTML
– Experience of working with standards compliant websites
– Previous experience of working with content management systems
– Detailed knowledge of HTML and cross-platform compatibility issues
– Basic knowledge of UNIX command line and file systems
– A degree or equivalent commercial experience

As a Webmaster, you must possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong customer focus and fantastic problem solving abilities. Hard-working and committed, you’ll take pride in your work and have the desire to see all issues through to resolution.

Extensive experience of internet protocols, standards, technologies and applications would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of web server environments, preferably Apache. Scripting experience using Perl, PHP or UNIX would be advantageous, as would experience of using MySQL or Postgres databases. A good working knowledge of source code control systems, such as Subversion, would be equally favourable, as would familiarity with online communication tools.

Please note, our client also offers this role on a nine month fixed-term contract basis.
