Mechanical Engineer

Cento are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer based in the North West.

We are recruiting on behalf of an international multi-disciplined engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation. Working on a variety of projects in the North West and beyond, they are now looking to recruit a talented mechanical engineer.

You will work as part of a well-organised and close-knit team, on stand-alone Building Services projects, as well as part of multi-disciplinary team. You will take significant responsibility for the management and delivery of your own work, with supervision from more experienced engineers as required.

You will also benefit from great opportunities for training and development, particularly with regard to 3D modelling and BIM.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:-

• Producing engineering designs using relevant engineering software (CYMAP and/or Hevacomp, AutoCAD, Revit)
• Supervising the production of technical drawings and verifying accuracy
• Producing and checking calculations
• Preparing specifications and CDM documentation
• Preparing project reports
• Attending project review meetings and site visits
• Programming work in accordance with clients’ expectations
• Following project management, QA, environmental and health and safety procedures

The ideal candidate will ideally hold an BEng or MEng qualification and have 2 to 4 years post graduate experience in a building services role, ideally within a consultancy environment, and this must include proven experience of designing engineering solutions.

Evidence of progress towards becoming an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional institution would be advantageous.

Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under their own initiative and to co-ordinate and supervise the activities of other, less experienced members of the team.
