This leading industrial manufacturing facility is seeking to appoint an experienced Expeditor to support the Logistics Department to create and maintain accurate production plans. You will come from a manufacturing background and have previous planning / purchasing / expediting experience.

Salary: to £30,000p.a. + Benefits

The Role

Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager your role will be to act as liaison between all production department and sub-contractors to ensure production plans are adhered to accurately.
You will work closely with the Planning department to resolve any WIP issues and to make sure the aged works orders are closed.
Control, manage and coordinate production planning with the use of a SAP system whilst working to customer schedules accurately. Key areas of responsibility will include control of yearly, weekly and daily production plans and to integrate SAP where necessary, being mindful that you are managing the stock levels correctly. You will deal with supplier transport ensuring the organisation is correct and will not disrupt the customer.
Key areas of responsibility will include “work order” progression to the shop floor to all production areas within the plant, driving sub-contractor lead time improvements or make sure that the products are stages appropriately for the next production process.
You will understand the work of other releasing department functions related to customer delivery lead times

The Person

Candidates should possess a reasonable educational background (ideally HNC level or equivalent) along with proven skills in logistics/expediting/departmental liaison gained within a manufacturing environment

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of expediting and will be a tenacious and results driven individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills. You will be fully computer literate (including Excel package).
