DevOps Developer/Engineer – Influential role – Hertfordshire/North London

DevOps Developer is required by a rapidly growing organisation based in Hertfordshire/North London. The role would suit someone keen to hone their infrastructure skills and improve company’s middleware stack. You will be working on the latest technologies: Jenkins, Maven, Debian, MQ, Camel, Tomcat, Glassfish, Puppet, Hbase, Cassandra, AWS, Google Compute Engine. You will design and configure new frameworks to support company’s software stack, design and support company’s messaging systems (JMS, ActiveMQ, etc), work with Java development teams to provide integration platforms (Camel, ESB), automate systems for use in building, deploying and managing company’s in-house software, ensure alerting and monitoring is baked-in alongside all applications, provide ongoing application configuration management (Puppet, maintenance scripts, etc) and manage source control systems (Git, Mercurial, Subversion). The successful candidate will have interest and understanding in “DevOps”, and how the technologies around this can be used effectively within company’s environment, able to communicate both technically and non-technically amongst systems stakeholders, demonstrable Java programming ability, Python, Ruby and scripting knowledge, knowledge of application frameworks (Glassfish, Tomcat, etc), knowledge of build and deployment mechanisms (Jenkins, Maven, etc), knowledge of Unix/Linux based infrastructure environment and good Unix/Linux knowledge – confident on command line.
