Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 – based on experience

Location: Monument, Central London

Hours: 40pw (Monday – Friday). Paid overtime when required

Start Date: Immediate / After Notice Period

Two Stage Interview: 1st interview via Teams video; 2nd interview is office-based

 

  • Our client is a commercial property serviced office provider. They are currently seeking a Maintenance Operative to based in Monument, Central London.
  • This company is part of a larger group of companies with brands across property, retail, digital services, logistics, food and beverages with an international presence and workforce spanning the USA, Australia, Asia, New Zealand, UK, and Ireland.

Overview:

  • Facilities maintenance duties across 3 commercial building locations within walking proximity of Monument, Central London
  • Providing a pro-active and re-active maintenance service as part of a facilities team throughout commercial serviced office centres within close proximity of each other.
  • Carrying out; routine duties, pre-planned maintenance, repairs and other specific facilities-related works requiring both skilled and unskilled labour.

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the maintenance team, to implement the (PPM) planned preventative maintenance program to commercial properties and serviced offices cost-effectively.
  • Daily duties to include specific jobs list / repairs, pro-active maintenance, emergency repairs and pre-planned works as part of a larger team.
  • Respond to faults, carry out repairs & maintenance according to priority.
  • General repairs may include some aspects of plumbing, electrics, basic joinery & painting.
  • Assist in moving, assembling/dismantling of furniture.
  • Deal with minor electrical repairs and fixings, light bulbs, plugs etc
  • Floor box relocation, remove and lay floor tiles and ceiling tiles.
  • Painting/grouting communal and office areas
  • Communicate well with clients to resolve work orders.
  • Important routine compliance works will be scheduled and must be carried out on time and in an organised fashion with a good audit trail.
  • Clean up after yourself and leave properties in good order at the end of the day while the work is being done, and after works are completed.
  • Participate in projects including client moves and fit-outs.
  • You will be required to be contactable at all times during work hours and may be required to work outside normal working hours.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience of working in a previous handyperson / trade-related role in the commercial facilities sector
  • Strong DIY skills, competent in basic plumbing, joinery and basic electrics
  • Experience plastering, painting & decorating, tiling, grouting, laying floor tiles, replace lights bulbs/light fittings
  • Physically capable of moving equipment / furniture.
  • Ability to fault diagnosis and repair
  • Able to accurately assess time/ materials to complete the task cost-effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience using hand and power tools
  • A good understanding of health & safety is required, along with a professional attitude to present a good image and promote a safe working environment.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Able to handle customer complaints and resolve problems efficiently.
