Production Manager
Location: Blackpool Salary: £42,000 – £54,000p.a.
Due to continued growth an outstanding opportunity has arisen, within this leading independently owned Premium Pet Treat business, for a career driven Production Manager. Going forward, you will play an instrumental part in the Company achieving its ambitious expansion plans.
* You will be a Production Manager or / FLM / Shift Production Manager / Shift Operations Manager
* You will have Production Management experience within a Food Production Process or Food Process Manufacturing environment
* You will be looking for a challenging Production Manager role that is Days-Based
Reporting to the Owner, the Production Manager will be responsible for the efficient manufacture, of its quality products in a safe and efficient production environment.
The Production Manager will:
* Ensure all production requirements are efficiently and effectively planned and scheduled to maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure that customers’ orders are met on time in full, safely, to the correct standard of quality and at or below budgeted cost.
* Achieve a high level of safety performance, employee safety awareness and accountability throughout the team. Additionally, to ensure adherence and champion safety processes and procedures.
* Professionally manage teams to deliver effective and efficient operational service
* Develop efficient and effective operations to ensure future business revenue plans are achieved.
* Manage and develop a team of 30 direct & indirect reports (including supervisors, bakery staff and packing operatives. health & safety etc.)
* Ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs.
* Manage the Enterprise Resource Planning System as required for the production process
For this Production Manager role, we are looking for a Production Manager with the following:
* Prior proven Production Management or FLM/ Shift Management experience within a Food Production environment
* Holds NEBOSH Certification or Equivalent. Previous experience of driving health & safety within the workplace – Previous experience of carrying out risk assessments in the workplace and documenting safe working procedures
* Knowledge of quality and environmental standards such as ISO 9001 AND 14001
* Previous experience in continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, etc. to drive improvement.
* Proven leadership experience and capability, with an ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
* Knowledge & experience of business and management principles (planning, resource allocation, budgeting, financial reporting & tracking etc)
* Experience of implementing / maintaining ERP System.
* Knowledge of maintenance routines & Engineering project planning
* Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
* Thorough knowledge of IT systems with sound skills in Excel & Word & PowerPoint packages
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of employee relations in a manufacturing setting.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
