Mechanical Fitter

Working within a highly equipped workshop environment and on site at clients production facilities, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role will be expected to uphold a high level of health and safety compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant safety standards at all times.

Duties will include:
Planned and preventative maintenance of manufacturing equipment, with some general fault finding expectations.
Project development and installation work, equipment upgrades and small plant modifications on established machinery and equipment.
Mechanical fitting, and basic component manufacture utilising workshop equipment – competence within turning, milling, grinding would be advantageous.

Experience required includes:
Experience of conveyors, gear boxes, drives, motors, hydraulics and pneumatic systems, and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Pipework and pumping installations would also be an advantage.

Complementing our existing engineering team, the successful candidates should be capable of applying an innovative approach to problem solving, and plant improvements through robust engineering intervention, able to work independently with limited supervision, or as part of a team within a dynamic environment, covering a diverse range of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Applicants will have a Mechanical Bias. In addition, you will hold Mechanical engineering qualification such as NVQ level 3 in engineering and minimum of City and Guilds or ONC. Please NOTE: This is NOT a motor Vehicle maintenance role.

All permanent positions, 40 hours per week, paid monthly.
