Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

White Label are recruiting for a company based in Newark who are looking for a Junior/Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy and growing project department.

They are a market leading manufacturing company who manufacture bespoke special purpose machinery.

You will be tasked with the full design process for new products from concept designs to detailed manufacturing drawings, but also key responsibilities would include:

Key Tasks/Objectives:

• Manage end to end design of new products
• Understand existing product range and identify key improvement areas
• Design products in 3D CAD for the UK and European markets (Solidworks)
• Produce detailed engineering/manufacturing drawings with Bills of Materials
• Develop working relationships with suppliers
• Work within individual project / customer design specifications
• Provide general technical expertise to assist company growth, e.g. Specifying new machines, new tools, designing assembly jigs, new computer software, product development
• Produce technical documents, reports and presentations for internal and external use
• Your responsibilities will include all aspects of design and manufacture of the entire company product range

Essential Skills:

• Strong experience using 3D CAD software (Solidworks) ideally but open to other 3D packages
• Full lifecycle design experience – concept design, 2D/3D modelling, engineering drawings and designing for manufacture as well as maintenance and design improvement considerations
• Proven Project Management skills and experience would be advantageous

Desirable Skills:

• Hold a relevant engineering degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering

• Experience of working with stainless steel, sheet metal and machined products
• Experience of working with cable assemblies, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Experience of working to produce CNC machine programs

Salary & Benefits:

• £25K – £35K (Dependent on experience)
