Recognised and award winning group of companies with a diverse range of business activities with an active interest in the Insurance, Automotive, Finance, Property and Media sectors are seeking to attract a talented Graduate Pricing and Underwriting Analyst to join the group in Tunbridge Wells working within a highly experienced and skilled team.

As a Graduate Pricing and Underwriting Analyst you will be working in an exciting, diverse and changeable environment, delivering high quality pricing and underwriting analysis across a broad range of requirements

Key Responsibilities:

The team is relatively small, but growing as the brand grows. This affords the successful candidate a diverse range of Actuarial type work.

Specific responsibilities are:

– Extract and manipulate data using bespoke software and excel
– Perform analysis using excel or other software
– Monitor the business performance and report findings to stakeholders
– Present analysis to the Pricing and Analysis manager
– Support other business areas through ad hoc analysis

Key Skills and Knowledge:

There will be a lot of on the job training, and following a successful probationary period Actuarial study support may be an option.

– Maths/ Physics/ Economics/ Actuarial Science or similar BSc level qualification (2:1+ preferable) or equivalent

– Naturally numerate, logical and have an ability to spot patterns

– Intermediate knowledge of Excel, with some knowledge of Word and Powerpoint

– Good communication skills. In particular the ability to explain complex mathematical workings in layman’s terms

Desirable Skills

On the job training will happen.

– General grasp of Motor insurance, sales methods and industry issues.

– SAS or other programming language or data mining experience.
