We have an opportunity in a lovely care home for a Head Housekeeper. The home is set in beautiful grounds in Brighton with easy access to public transport. As Head Housekeeper you will be responsible for leading the team of Domestic Assistants and Laundry Assistants, to ensure that the home’s interior, the furniture, fittings and fixtures are clean, tidy and meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This is a medium sized residential home with just over 30 bedrooms.

As Head Housekeeper, you will take the lead on assisting the Home Manager supervise your team of domestic staff and show initiative and make suggestions for the improvements of the domestic functions within the home. You will have responsibility for checking all domestic goods, stocks and supplies and carry out domestic audits as well as elementary checks on equipment. You will also be responsible for assisting in the recruitment of domestic staff and carrying out supervisions and domestic reviews for the housekeeping team. You will need to develop a positive relationship with the residents, visitors and staff team.Your role is pivotal in maintaining a clean, risk, free care home and ensuring that your domestic team are supervised appropriately and the home is immaculate at all times.

The ideal Head Housekeeper will have a keen eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic nature and the ability to manage and develop your team and engage sensitively and positively with the residents. Previous experience working as a Head Housekeeper or Deputy Head Housekeeper of floor supervisor in a care home, hotel or hospital is desirable.

As Head Housekeeper,you will receive a salary of up to £27,000 plus free meals along with a generous holiday allowance as well as very good training and development.
